I enjoy suspenseful stories, so The Haunting of Hill House and We Have Always Lived in the Castle both sound exciting. <br />I am not sure if I have ever read the Lottery either. There were several film versions, I remember one called The Haunting was very good.<br /><br />I agree with you about art and literature being an expression of reality based on the creator's mind.
